Card-Art

These wonderful note cards are hand-drawn by New England pet artist Deborah Shneider Smith.  She founded Cart-Art in 1992, as an outlet for her love of drawing animals.

Deborah's note cards are presented in boxed sets of 8 cards and 8 matching envelopes.  Each boxed set consists of black & white designs, all the same image, 4.25" X 5.5" in size and blank inside for your convenience. They are printed on 80lb. card stock, and are handsomely boxed in white cardboard with clear vinyl lids, making them great for gift giving!

Deborah chooses her subjects from the pets of friends and neighbors, not from magazines or books.  She does not consider a drawing finished until the inner essence of that particular animal shines through -- until the drawing seems to spring to life.  Judging by the reactions of pet owners when they see the finished products.. crying and gasps of dumbfounded amazement... she guesses that her goals have been realized.

Deborah graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from Brandeis University.  Besides Card-Art, she has taught Special Education (Severe Special Needs) and Early Childhood Education, for about 28 years.  She and her husband Steve, also a teacher, live in Maynard, MA., and their two sons are in college.
