Hitching Up to The Net

Hitching up to The Net

Written By: Bonnie Marlewski-Probert

Judy wrote to me asking for more information on driving sites on the Internet.

"Bonnie,

I saw your list of carriage companies in the magazine recently and I was wondering about getting a list of Internet addresses. I have just started driving and am looking for a cart that would work for my 14 hh pony. He is not very fancy and my main interest is combined driving. Bill Long comes to this area four times a year for clinics and I hope to have my pony ready for the next clinic. Bill even helps people start their horses at these clinics so we are going. I hope to hear from you. It is always good to hear about others that are interested in driving. I am a member of the ADS and our local group, The Harness and Pleasure Driving Assn. in Oregon City, OR.

Thanks again,

Judy"

The good news is that you are a member of the ADS and even better, a member of a local driving club. Both of these decisions will go a long way toward making your entry into driving a pleasurable, fun filled, safe experience. In addition to doing these things, I would suggestion that you rent/buy driving videos and books to learn as much as you can. This is the quickest and least painful way to learn from others without having to go through your own "school of hard knocks."

In my book, "The Animal Lover?s Guide to the Internet," there are nearly 600 animal-related, educationally based web site address that would keep the average animal lover busy for months. Below are a few additional addresses that should help you connect with driving suppliers and enthusiasts around the world. I am not necessarily endorsing these companies, but am suggesting these sites as a good way to forge ahead in your driving education.
